Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Fluffy and Oreo are a gorgeous and unlikely 1yr old pair who will need a very special home. Although they came into rescue from two totally different situations, we learned both of them have FeLV. FeLV (feline leukemia virus) is an immuno-virus that attacks the immune system over time. This is NOT transmissible to humans or dogs, but it is contagious to other kitties that don’t have FeLV. It does mean they will have a shorter lifespan. They could have another year or even another 5-6yrs, every cat is different. Sadly, people don’t want to adopt a kitty who is basically a “hospice” situation, but these guys don’t know there’s anything wrong! At present, they are healthy, happy, loving, playful kitties! They deserve a home despite their condition. We will take care of all their medical needs and it would basically be a “forever foster” situation, so you don’t need to worry about medical bills.
Fluffy is the big fluffy girl, and Oreo is the cute tuxedo male. Fluffy is shy and takes a little time to bond, but she would love to have Oreo as her forever friend. She loves a cat friend. Oreo is more outgoing and will climb up you for attention. He’s the “people person” of the pair. They need a low stress home, and someone who’s gonna’ love and spoil them. They cannot live with other cats, but they could live with a CALM, cat-savvy dog that wouldn’t bother them.
We know these won’t be anyone’s first choice, but we hope someone will open their heart and home to these two deserving cats despite their prognosis. It’s not their fault, and they shouldn’t be punished for it by not being able to have a forever home.
