My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for a handsome stud muffin with the best smile in town? Well look no
further, our buddy Andi is not only easy on the eyes with his white and grey coat
but his smile is enough to brighten anyone's day! This fun loving boy loves to play
and have a good time. He adores having all kinds of toys but his favorite is a
basic tennis ball. His favorite spot at Satchel's is the agility play yard and he has
mastered the jumps, A-frame, see-saw and tire tunnel! As a food motivated guy,
he has proven quick to learn new behaviors. He is extremely loving and wishes
only to spend time with those he loves. When you join his circle, there is no better
greeting than from Andi, he always lets you know how much he cares by leg
leans, playful jumping and kisses. Andi has a Woof Pack leader here at Satchel's
and they are working on his acceptance of new people. He is a big supporter of
leisurely strolls and walks very well on leash. He does get distracted a bit, wanting
to catch lizards he finds here and there, but listens when it's time to rest. He loves
car rides and with that giant smile and ears flopping in the wind, you can't resist
sharing that happiness. This gentle soul does need patience when meeting him
the first time or two, since his trust is not so easy to gain. He is protective of the
people he cares most about and would do anything for them. He also is not the
fondest of other dogs and would prefer to be your main squeeze rather than
share. There is so much love in Andi's heart and we here at Satchel's Last Resort
would love for you to take the time to also get to know this amazing canine and
his brilliant smile! For an appointment to meet Andi, please submit the adoption
application (no commitment) found on our website, www.satchelslastresort.org,
and an adoption counselor will be in touch.

More about this rescue

Satchel's Last Resort is a no-kill animal shelter/sanctuary whose mission is to Rescue, Rehab and Rehome dogs and cats with nowhere else to go because of breed, behavior or medical issues.

Each resident that comes to Satchel’s has its own unique and personal history. We get to know each one individually – favorite toy, favorite game, favorite foods. The dogs are housed in an airy shelter with spacious kennels, take three or four romps in the playard or walks per day, and even take car rides to let their fur flap in the wind. Cats are housed in two open cat room settings and receive social interaction with staff and volunteers every day. Most important to us -- we keep our dogs and cats safe from other residents and from humans who may want to harm them.

Trainers work with the dogs a few times a week to teach them that they can trust humans and other animals. Staff and volunteers work with our cats to keep them socialized or help them learn to trust again. We actively seek forever homes tailored to the needs of every individual pet so that they can live the rest of their lives among a family of their own.

At Satchel’s Last Resort, we believe that by harnessing the unconditional love that the dogs and cats in our sanctuary put forth everyday, the world becomes a brighter place for animals and people. Each and everyday we try to give a little of their love back – back to the pets and back to our community.
