Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Madea!
This sweetheart turned one in April. She's a fluffy, loving, friendly 75# Pyr/St mix. Her owners did not have a fence and had hoped she would just learn to stay on their porch and be able to live "free" hanging out in the yard with them. Well, as Madea got older the protective side of the Pyr had her starting to want to guard the road in front of their house. She was also wandering the neighborhood as she pleased which I'm assuming the neighbors might not have been so excited about.
When her family decided to start spending part of their year in Colorado they hoped that she could be "free" there. Well again without a fence or boundaries she chased the deer and again that wasn't allowed. They loved her but maybe didn't realize that a BIG dog needs more than love to keep them home and to keep them safe! After one training session where we learned to walk on a leash perfectly so she could get exercise and get out and see life I got the call asking if I knew of someone who'd take her.
She came home with me the following day! She met my 6 year old dane and did well but truely fell in LOVE with my 3 year old St Bernard! They are best friends, playmates, and just all around buddies. They Play Play Play! She's living in my house, not getting into anything, loving the dog door, is great with the cats inside, thinks about chasing them when she's outside playing off leash but with one word of warning and a call she's right back by your side waiting for a pet or a kind word. She's safe around the chickens with the occational similar call if she's paying too much attention, she LOVES the goats and gives them kisses through the fence and just hasn't had the chance to meet them in person though I'd guess she'd do like my St did and try to play and be a bit offended when they head butt her! Very similar personalities!
Easy to love, happy, outgoing, listens well, good in the house, doesn't try to escape the yard, doing well with other animals of ANY kind, good with adults, kids, even ones climbing on her and being just hyper ADHD crazy on her. She doesn't care, just love her!
She deserves a home who understands that a year old pup needs exercise, fencing, and needs to get out to see new things and meet more people so she'll not be worried about life!
Can you give Madea a chance at that?
