Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lee came in with his two siblings. He had been saved from a bad situation by a lady who often fosters for us until we have room to bring into rescue. She had stated that the pups had very little hair and were in terrible shape. She managed to get Advantage Multi for them and that helped tremendously. The pups hair started to come back but they still are showing patches of hair loss. We were finally able to accept them into rescue and we are working on getting them all fully (age appropriately) vetted and find them new homes. The pups are all really friendly, lovable pups. They will easily adapt to any home and environment. We expect that they will do great with everyone and anyone since they are pups(we think about 12 weeks old) so kids, cats, other dogs?...no problem! They will socialize well to your particular situation, as most pups do. Lee is a digger and he's pretty proud of his accomplishments too so please make sure you supervise him outside, have a secure fenced yard and/or leash walk her. He currently does not have any experience on a leash but harnesses generally make leash training easy. The pups are not housebroken or crate trained yet so please also plan to put in the effort to train. They are all typical puppies who enjoy playing hard and getting into everything they know that they shouldnt..you know, the normal puppy antics! Puppy proofing is always a great idea when getting a new baby! We think that the pups will require a good deal of exercise because of their breed types and(guesstimated) mature size of a larger medium to large sized dog. They should be perfect playmates for your children and other dogs. If you are looking for a new baby to love, take care of and teach new tricks to, then Lee or one of his siblings may be for you!
Lee saw the vet on 10/11/23. He appears to be in fairly good health overall. He did have a skin infection and that was treated with a Convenia injection. He is still too young to be tested for heartworms but is on Simparica Trio for monthly heartworm prevention/flea control. He did test positive for hookworms on his fecal. We treated him with Drontal for the hookworms. He may need a follow up dewormer in 3 weeks when his next vaccination booster will also be due. He weighed 14.2 pounds as of 10/11/23.
If interested in giving Lee his forever home, please submit your interest and your adoption application via email or text ONLY to 352-215-3260 (phone calls will not be answered or returned from this number). Lee's adoption fee will be $175 to help cover the cost of his vetting and daily care while with us. We will only consider applicants who complete the adoption application and will determine whether the applicant would be a good fit for Lee based on the info provided in the application. If we feel that you will be a good match for him, we will set up a meet and greet appointment with you.
