My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Poppy came in with her sisters, brother and mom as strays. They were so shy when they first arrived but with love and attention they have blossomed! Poppy will need a little patience since she can be a bit shy but will reward her forever family with affection and entertainment for hour! She is negative for the triple snap test, is up to date on all vaccinations and parasite control and will be spayed and microchipped before adoption.

More about this shelter

Dixie Adoptables is a 501c3 rescue, operating the Lucedale Animal Shelter in Lucedale, MS. We travel up to the north monthly with all of our adopted pets.
Dixie Adoptables is one of many shelters working to get animals out of the area where shelters are always full, and adoptions of the sweet babies are hard to come by. We are grateful to every person that chooses to adopt and give a home to a loving animal, whose only fault was being born in a part of the country where their value is underappreciated and spay/neuter is done far too infrequently.
