My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mara, a young feline who came to the rescue with her mom and siblings. Her sweet and friendly nature is infectious, and her playful antics are sure to bring a smile to your face. She's a bundle of joy who loves to play and explore. When she's not chasing after toys, she enjoys spending time with her family, purring contentedly in their company. Her delightful personality and loving nature make her the perfect addition to any family. She's not just a pet; she's a friend, a confidante, and a source of endless joy. Adopt Mara, and let her fill your home with love, laughter, and lots of purrs.

More about this shelter

Dixie Adoptables is a 501c3 rescue, operating the Lucedale Animal Shelter in Lucedale, MS. We travel up to the north monthly with all of our adopted pets.
Dixie Adoptables is one of many shelters working to get animals out of the area where shelters are always full, and adoptions of the sweet babies are hard to come by. We are grateful to every person that chooses to adopt and give a home to a loving animal, whose only fault was being born in a part of the country where their value is underappreciated and spay/neuter is done far too infrequently.
