My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Midge, a dog with a heart full of love and loyalty. Despite her shy demeanor, Midge's sweet and friendly nature shines through. Midge's bravery is admirable, having faced challenging circumstances with resilience. She was abandoned on the side of the road with her puppies. Her loyalty is unmatched, always ready to stand by those she cares for. This wonderful friend is looking for a forever home where she can share her love and loyalty. Midge deserves a loving family who will appreciate her sweetness, intelligence, and bravery, providing her with the love and care she's always been ready to give. She prefers to be the only pet in the household.

More about this shelter

Dixie Adoptables is a 501c3 rescue, operating the Lucedale Animal Shelter in Lucedale, MS. We travel up to the north monthly with all of our adopted pets.
Dixie Adoptables is one of many shelters working to get animals out of the area where shelters are always full, and adoptions of the sweet babies are hard to come by. We are grateful to every person that chooses to adopt and give a home to a loving animal, whose only fault was being born in a part of the country where their value is underappreciated and spay/neuter is done far too infrequently.
