Meet Kyra! Kyra is a gentle but very shy girl. She does take a while to warm up but is also very curious about new people. Once she warms up, she is yours forever!

She does have a prey drive, so she would need to be with another dog who is her size or bigger. Absolutely no cats or other small animals.

More about this shelter

Our shelter had it's beginnings in the mid 90's and formally became a nonprofit organization in 2001. The dream of Lee and Sophia DiClemente has grown to be the largest no-kill animal shelter in New Mexico. Lee passed in 2010, but Sophia carries on with the support of a small staff, a large number of volunteers, and numerous donors - large and small.
