Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Name: Abbott
Nicknames: Abb. Abbott Abbott Abbott Abbott! (Said literally as many times as possible as fast as you can and he melts)
Breed: ???? (Mixed)
Weight: 39 lbs.
Sex: Male
Age: ~7 months
Before OMD: We picked him up outside the city shelter (along with OMD Costello, who was adopted) when we saw them running around out front, with an owner simultaneously trying to corral them and get rid of them.
Energy level: Medium. He still has some puppy energy, but we think he’ll grow into a nice moderate energy level. He loves to play but can also be a chill, relaxed guy.
What we love: The smile you get when you give him the good scratches. His wonderful snuggling abilities. How happy he gets to see you (even if you’ve only been around the corner for three seconds).
What he loves: People. Toys. More toys. New toys. Squeaky toys. Treats. His pup foster brothers. Scratches. Belly rubs. Getting held like a baby.
What makes us laugh: His early onset of toy hoarding. His ridiculously funny sleeping positions and locations (his favorite is the pillow pile or in the toy bin)
What’s not a laughing matter: His shoe and sock stealing. Good luck finding them.
What he knows: Sit. Working on lay down and paw.
Dogs: Yep! Loves to play with the two playful pups in his foster home and learned to leave the senior guy alone after a well-deserved correction.
Cats: Sure – he ignores the cat in his current foster home.
Kids: He loves ‘em – he’s still learning some manners though.
House-trained: Yes! He will go to the door and bark if you aren’t paying attention.
Crate-trained: Doing great! He’ll sometimes even lay down in his crate on his own during the day.
Abbott is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is available for adoption to CT and surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application from omdrescue.org
