The adorable litter of Pokémon babies were born on August 6, 2023 and came as a complete surprise to the owner of their mama. The owner had originally approached me feeling they needed to surrender mama Onix because they could not afford any of the amounts they were getting quoted for a spay. They did not realize they had a boy and girl at first as that was not what they were told on Craigslist. Once discovering this they separated them right away and tried to have her spayed, but was having difficulty finding a vet to do the spay and was affordable. It had been more than 30 days so they thought they were in the clear with any pregnancy, but wait gestation is 31-35 days for a bunny. Surprise! We took in both mama and her babies when they were a week old. Mama was underweight as she had not been taking in the extra calories needed during pregnancy and for nursing infants. We started fattening her up and the milk started to flow. We then helped the owners and sponsored a spay/neuter for both their bunnies. Mama Onix went back to her owner after she weaned her babies, was spayed and recovered.
Tinkatink and her sister Wigglytuff are both extremely sweet bunnies and such a joy to watch. They love to do binkies, zoomies and flops. Both are on the smaller size and good with their litter box. They are bonded sisters so need to stay together and be adopted as a pair.
Bunnies do much better in pairs or groups as they are extremely social animals. Don't worry, that doesn't mean it will interfere with a relationship with you. The human and bunny relationship is completly different than the bunny and bunny relationship. There is enough love to go around for everyone.
We know they will warm your heart as much as they do ours.
