My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LIONEL (R) and SARGE (L) are a pair of bonded brown tabby male kitties that make the cutest odd couple; Lionel is an energetic little teenager who loves to run around and chase toys and strings, and Sarge is his sweet “big brother” who loves to hang out and cuddle with Lionel. They are both highly social, loving, and outgoing, and are so much fun to have around.  Lionel is bouncy, funny, and entertaining, and Sarge is a bundle of love and affection – a gentle giant who likes everyone he meets (other cats, dogs, and people). Sarge is currently on a weight reduction program to slim down, and he’s already seeing progress! He is diabetic and requires insulin twice a day, but it's very easy to care for a diabetic cat, and Sarge’s foster mom will help guide his new family on his medical care. [There’s always a chance that Sarge’s diabetes will improve as he loses weight.]  These two boys will bring tremendous joy to their new forever home!

Both cats are good with dogs and gentle kids, but while Sarge is fine with other cats, Lionel can be aggressive with cats that aren’t as energetic as he is – so this bonded pair will do best as the only cats in the household.

LIONEL and SARGE have both been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, are negative for FeLV and FIV, and include a free wellness visit with our vet partners. To meet them in foster care, submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy available at the store. A volunteer will contact you within 3-5 days for a possible meet and greet. The adoption fee for the pair is $185, which allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. For more information, send an email to AdoptInfo@CatRescues.org or call 541-225-4955 option 1. ID# 2304-C0215 (SARGE)  2304-C0192R (LIONEL)

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All potential adopters are required to complete our application and contract. Our contract stipulates the requirements for care of our pets. These documents are available through e-mail or at our adoption events. The documents are reviewed by our staff and together with a face to face interview we explore the potential new home. If all parties agree to the specifics of the contract the dog or cat can go home. Adoption fee varies with age of pet.
All pets are current on vaccinations, health checked by our veterinarian, De-wormed, treated with flea medication, spayed or neutered, and cats are felv/fiv tested.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to provide care and find loving homes for cats and kittens of our community, with a focus on those with special needs. Currently we only work with Cats. We offer temporary housing in foster homes until they can be placed through our adoption process. We have adoption centers within both Petsmarts in Eugene, at Chad Drive, near Costco, and 29th and Willamette; PetCo by Valley River Center and Wags Dog Emporium on Coburg Rd. Cat Rescue & Adoption Network works with humane societies, other animal rescue groups, the public and government animal services agencies to offer them relief from their overpopulation problem. All cats in our custody receive the medical care they need. Cat Rescue & Adoption Network is a non-profit organization. All money raised is used to help Cat Rescue & Adoption Network save as many animal lives as possible.
