My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bunker is a sweet beautiful boy looking for his perfect new home! He was born in 2/2015 and is about 50-55lbs. Although Bunker gets along with most dogs, his ideal home would be as the only pooch. He has done great with his families young grandchildren.

Bunker LOVES his people, is reliable left at home in the house alone (currently has a dog door). He loves to play ball with himself and go for walks.

Bunker will have a reduced adoption fee...please email us for more info and an adoption questionnaire.

Here is what his family says about this sweetheart:

Bunker…… Where do you start with this handsome chocolate goofball? He is almost 9, going on 2. He loves people! He loves to play ball with himself. He loves to play with his stuffed lovies and sleep with them. He loves to kiss you and drinks water like an animal 3 times his size. He loves to ride shot gun almost as much as he loves taking you for a walk. He loves sleeping at the foot of your bed and occasionally moves up to the pillow to make sure you are watching him sleep.

Bunker can be dog selective. Sometimes they don’t like his royalty aura he carries and sometimes he doesn’t like theirs. He has been around children and loves to show off his mad skills of playing ball with himself. He is neutered, UTD on shots and heartworm medication. He has no known health issues.

Bunker does not like squirrels or skunks or small prey, but seems to completely ignore small dogs and has tested ok with dog savvy kitties. Bunker has selective hearing (he would totally deny this). He may or may not come when called, but can hear me open a bag of dog treats from next door.

Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......and visit our website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about our rescue group. Adoption fees range from $350-$475 for dogs. THE DOGS SHOWN ON THE SITE ARE IN FOSTERCARE - WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER TO VISIT. EMAIL is the best way to reach us. We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!

Our Mission Statement...
Sacramento Independent Animal Rescuers is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Our purpose is to aid stray, abandoned, and neglected animals. In addition to animals rescued and adopted by our organization, SIAR is also dedicated to help other independent animal rescuers find their foster animals the loving homes they deserve. To date, thousands of dogs and cats have been rescued and placed into wonderful homes in the past few years. In order to provide these services, we work with the community shelters, rescue organizations, and individuals who have animals with special needs and place these animals in permanent homes after they reach a stage of wellness.

Our mission is to provide loving, permanent homes for animals that have been abused, abandoned, or lost, which otherwise would not be with us today. Many of our rescued animals, especially those that were rescued from the shelters initially had kennel cough, pneumonia, or giardia with the extreme cases having the parvo or distemper viruses. In addition, a high percentage of animals are malnourished and require special dietary demands. We rely on tax deductible cash donations as well as food and other pet supplies that will allow us to continue to save lives!

**** WE ARE IN GREAT NEED OF DONATIONS AS MANY OF THE ANIMALS WE RESCUE HAVE COSTLY MEDICAL PROBLEMS AND ARE CONSIDERED NON ADOPTABLE AT THE SHELTERS - WE HOPE TO GIVE THEM A SECOND CHANCE AT A LONG AND HAPPY LIFE****

All of our companion pets, have been neutered or spayed, given all current vaccinations, heartworm tested and microchipped. This also provides the community with healthier animals and aids in the reduction of the outspread of illness and future homeless offspring.

The adoption fee for animals being adopted by SIAR can range from $75-$100 (for kitties) and $150-$350 (for dogs) depending on the animal and associated costs. The adoption fee helps up recooperate the thousands of dollars spent yearly on rehabilitation and allows us to continue to rescue animals in need.

Please be sure to click on the animal you are interested in. The corresponding biography will let you know which rescuer you need to contact to learn more about that wonderful pet.

Disclaimer: Due to the limited time spent with the rescued animals, Sacramento Independent Animals Rescuers is not responsible for the health, behavior or temperament of the animals listed or adopted by this group.
