Celeste is an adorable puppy, but is quite the firecracker….she’s playful, energetic, and VERY active!!
She is thought to be a Black Lab Mix; she is very petite. Her very lean structure may be due to her high energy level! And desire to stay active at all times. In addition to running and playing with other dogs, she’s obsessed with water and cannot get enough of playing in it!
Celeste’s estimated date of birth is April 1st, 2023. At 5 months, she weighs 25lbs; her adult weight is not known but estimated to be 40 or so lbs. It is most important to note that we do not know just how big Celeste will become as an adult…her new family must be willing to accept her, no matter what her adult size!
Celeste is very smart, a quick learner, very alert and energetic and playful. If you are looking to energize your household with a puppy…….Celeste is your girl!
This cute pup joined BAARK from an overcrowded shelter in Kentucky earlier this year. When joining our rescue program, Celeste appeared happy, confident, very friendly, and eager to move on to a better life!! She’s now ready to move along to a forever home of her own!
Celeste is great with dogs but does play pretty rough with them. Her new family definitely needs to work with her on manners and social skills. And be fully capable of establishing and consistently enforcing the rules of the household using positive reinforcement techniques. While good with other dogs, Celeste would definitely be too much for an older dog in the household.
An ideal family for Celeste is one able to assimilate the ongoing energy, enthusiasm, and playfulness of a puppy into their lifestyle and is willing to commit the time to working with and training Celeste to be the best version of herself! A secure fenced is required for this young pup; another younger or middle-aged pup in the family would also be advantageous.
Celeste is crate-trained and is working on good house manners (housebreaking). She is up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, is on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Her spay is included in her adoption fee.
For information about adding this youngster to your family please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895.
BAARK is located in the NW suburbs of Chicago, and adopts only locally.

1. Complete B.A.A.R.K.’s adoption application in its entirety. Prior to submitting an application for a particular pet, we encourage you to research the breed so that you understand the characteristics and needs of the animal.
2. After submitting the application, a B.A.A.R.K. adoption coordinator will contact you (assuming you are the primary caregiver to/adopter of the new pet) to review your application and conduct an initial phone interview.
3. A representative of B.A.A.R.K. will contact your references and verify the veterinary information that you have provided on the application for pets currently or previously owned. Please be sure you inform your references that you have provided their contact information to B.A.A.R.K. and that they will be contacted.
4. If, at any time during the adoption process, we conclude that the pet of interest is not a good match for your household, your application will be kept on file for one year. You will not be required to complete another application during that time period if you find another pet you are interested in adopting from B.A.A.R.K. Rescue.
5. After the initial phone interview, if B.A.A.R.K. has decided that the pet of interest to you may be a good fit for your household, a “meet & greet” will be arranged, either at the home of the foster family or at your home. If the first visit is preferred to take place at the foster home, a second visit will be arranged at your home.
6. B.A.A.R.K. will bring the pet of interest to your home for a meeting with ALL family members and ALL other pets within the household. The purpose of the home visit is to ensure that the pet you have chosen is appropriate for your living situation and lifestyle. Please note that ALL FAMILY MEMBERS AND ALL FAMILY PETS MUST BE PRESENT FOR THE IN-HOME INTERVIEW. More than one meeting may be required during the adoption process to ensure the best placement possible for the pet and the household.
7. When you have made the decision to adopt a pet from B.A.A.R.K. Rescue, we ask that you to spend 1-2 days thinking about the decision, in order to ensure that you are making the best choice for the pet and your family. A same day adoption is NEVER an option.
8. Once the decision is made to proceed with the adoption, an adoption contract must be reviewed, completed, and signed. B.A.A.R.K.’s adoption fee is non-refundable. You may also be asked to provide a separate check(s) of $150 as a fence deposit, obedience training deposit, and/or spay/neuter deposit. Check deposits will either be destroyed or returned upon completion of the required action.
