Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Hippo! Hippo is an absolute lover boy. We think he is a Staffordshire terrier and probably has several other breeds in his mix, a true Super Mutt! We love his short stubby little legs. Hippo is about 45 pounds and three or four years old. He walks great on a leash and loves car rides and snoozing on the sofa, wherever his people are is where this boy wants to be! He is great with kids and people of all kinds. He would do best as an only dog because he doesn’t like too many dogs around him, so a dog park is not for Hippo. He also loves wearing his outfits, he thinks he looks pretty snazzy. He will also chase cats and squirrels, so no cats in his new home. Hippo has a long sad story. He was hit by a car and taken to a veterinarian clinic by Good Samaritan. He was treated by the clinic for a broken pelvis, but his family never came to claim him.
Interested in becoming a forever home for Hippo? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application.
Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws.
We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Hippo.
We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Hippo the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us.
For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process.
Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses.
All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed.
Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!
