My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ken was rescued as a stray by our local shelter, but was chosen to participate in a very special program called H.A.L.T. In this program, he bonded with several teenage trainers who taught him basic obedience. (More about the program below.) During his month of training, Ken was full of energy, enjoying playtime with both other dogs in the class and his trainers. He's very smart, so he excelled in learning his commands.

Ken would be happiest in an active household who can help him burn some energy. He loves to play with other dogs, so having a furry sibling would make him very happy. Ken would be a wonderful family dog or perfect companion for an active single or couple.

Located in Knoxville, TN, H.A.L.T. (Humans & Animals Learning Together) is a non-profit program that provides therapeutic intervention for at-risk adolescents through a series of dog obedience training classes. With the help of adult volunteers, kids teach the dogs basic obedience commands, providing therapeutic intervention for the student trainers while increasing the adoptability of shelter dogs. The dogs are adopted into suitable homes after the class is complete.
