Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is Farmer. He's a handsome hound mix from South Texas where he was found with 7 of his siblings and his momma in horrible condition back in July.
Farmer came into Good Catch's arms this past week. He is up to date on his vaccines, healthy as a horse and just a puddle of cuteness and kindness!
This boy now lives with 11 other dogs in our rescue. He follows them around to see what he might be missing out on and shows pure elation with toys, balls and of course treats!
Farmer adjusted to his crate training quite quickly. He sleeps soundly in one through the night and has not had one accident yet. He gets his outdoor time throughout the day for potty training and now that the weather is cooler, he's enjoying sunbathing and all the new sights and smells on the farm.
Farmer is currently 4 months old and 35 pounds. He is a lot of Redbone coonhound, but his momma was a mix. He has a beautiful, sad, "bay" that gives him a voice or "say" in the matter. The first time we heard it was on his first night when he was probably missing his siblings.
Coonhounds make amazing companions, but they are also hunting dogs. They have a "nose that goes" so we are looking for a home with a fenced yard for this big baby who at the time, doesn't want to leave our side, but with age and more confidence, we believe he may have the instincts to seek out a squirrel (or 5). There's no telling.
Farmer is ready for his forever home and if you know anyone else looking for a good-looking pup like him, there are 6 more of his littermates looking for their forever homes too.
