Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is Wally. So much personality wrapped into 14 pounds of Chiweenie! He was rescued from a small City shelter where he was picked up with half of a leash still attached. He sat there for 5 days with no one reporting him missing and when his stray hold was up, Good Catch swooped in to save him!
Wally is approximately 11 months old. He currently lives with 11 other dogs at the rescue and has asserted himself as being the most intelligent and hoarder of all of the toys- just ask him.
First impressions are very important to this little dude. A gentle and slow introduction is the best way to win him over. We are seeking an individual or couple who enjoy the dynamics that a feisty boy like Wally has to offer! Someone who will take joy in his playful antics but stay on top of his training while he settles into life as an adopted companion.
Wally LOVES his toys! He will collect them from throughout the house and carry them into his secret spot in the laundry room. Some days it appears as though he has even organized them as we'll find the rope toys in one corner while the stuffed animals lay in another and the chewies yet another pile. We don't think we're mistaken to assume this little dude "might" be smarter than us.
Wally loves his foster family. He looks forward to "Dad" coming home every day and will bound into his lap. He is selective with who he will let his guard down for however, and this goes for dogs too.
Wally will do best as either a single pet or paired with another dog who isn't triggered by pushy play and busy energy. He has a few favorites in his pack of 11. They're all 4 times larger than he is but don't tell him that. Wally can also be possessive of his people and doesn't care to share them with another pet. He's learned that that's not possible in foster care, but we know that deep down inside, it's what he prefers.
Wally is neutered, fully vaccinated, has received a Proheart 12 shot which will provide heartworm prevention for the next 12 months, microchipped and so, so ready to be numero uno is his forever home!
This little dude resides in Marion, Texas, but can be transported up North using one of our trusted partners in transport.
