Maple has been with us a few months and we have learned a lot about her. Mostly she is a full-fledged sweetheart of a dogue. Being 6 years old has not slowed her down at all and she loves to play with her toys or chew her bones or go for a walk. She loves people and loves to cuddle and get lots of pets. Maple will need a very special home due to her urine issues. When she first arrived she would leak 24 hours a day. Now she is leaking very little and not every day – It is still very possible that she may stop leaking altogether. We have done very extensive vetting with Maple with a few different vets to get to the bottom of her problem. All her tests come back normal or negative so we have not had a diagnosis as to what may be causing her leakage. After trying 4 different medicines we have finally found one that is working, about 95% of the time she is dry. Maple will need a home that is willing to handle this problem if she regresses and the problem gets worse. Any potential home for Maple needs to understand her condition is something that the vets are hoping to control and not cure. For this reason a home with a fenced in yard would be beneficial to Maple.
Maple will not be placed in a home with cats or children under 12 years of age.
If you are the person that can continue giving Maple the vet care that she requires please go to our website and complete the adoption application www.ddbrescue.org. For questions please contact Marie at marie@ddbrescue.org.
All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots and micro chipped before being placed. Completed application and reference/home check required. We do NOT ship or fly rescues as it’s too stressful on them.
Donations are needed to help with our medical expenses. There are many special needs dogues in the program. Your tax deductible donations are greatly needed and appreciated.
