Meet Maya! Maya is a 3-year old Husky/Blue Heeler mix, and as you can guess, has alot of energy! She loves to play and run around outside, and she has a beautiful coat! She is particular around men, so you would have to introduce any men in your household to her prior to adoption if you are thinking about taking her home! She would do best with a very active family, or a family with a lot of land for her to run around in!
Maya has the best house manners. She is house trained and does not jump on furniture. She loves getting pets and is sure to ask for more. She'll paw you when she hasn't gotten enough. She has gotten along well with my own dog and I think would enjoy a playmate. She tries to get my dog to play with her but my dog is a senior and doesn't play much. She loves being around her people. She always sits nearby while I cook, or sits right in front of the couch when I'm watching tv. She also enjoys sleeping at the foot of the bed and sleeps through the night, no issue. She would do great with someone that has a big backyard or can be taken somewhere to run in a field. she loves tennis balls and loves to play fetch. That might be her favorite activity. She loves running.

Our mission is to provide the programs and services needed to eliminate the killing of at-risk animals due to lack of space, adopter or foster.
San Antonio Pets Alive! is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Due to alarming euthanasia rates, San Antonio Pets Alive! (SAPA!) was founded in 2012. SAPA! is unique—it is the only high paced, high-volume rescue in San Antonio, saving 6,000 at-risk cats and dogs annually.
Since its inception, SAPA! has saved more than 47,000 dogs and cats. SAPA! provides safety nets for the dogs and cats that fall through the cracks of all other lifesaving options and end up on the euthanasia lists, often with just hours to be saved. SAPA! promotes the availability of these dogs and cats to other rescues, adopters and fosters.

If you are interested in fostering an animal, please visit our website and fill out our online Foster Application. The more foster homes we have the more animals we can pull off the euthanasia list and the more lives we can save together!
