My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I came in with my friend and we are required to go home together.

Notes From Foster :

Plum and Tricks have become an unstoppable duo, ready to play with anything they can find (whether or not YOU think it's a toy) and then do some snoozing together when their work is done. They are both continuing to grow in their confidence around humans but have already discovered that people can provide treats, a friend to play with, good scritches around the ears, and, in Plum's case, a warm lap! They give each other confidence and comfort and will make great companions to anyone who can be a bit patient with them as they continue to learn all of things that are cool about people!

More about this shelter

The Maryland SPCA connects wonderful pets to loving owners. We are not affiliated with any national animal organization, and we do not receive any government or United Way funding. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. We operate primarily in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.

To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered before going into a new home. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care. In addition, a free Positive Pooch class is available to our dog adopters.

There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment. Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.

We transport animals from other shelters to our adoption center to help more animals get adopted. We also help pet owners find new homes for their pets so their animals don’t need to enter shelter care.
