Hi, my name is Hootie!
I'm a transfer from a local impound in MN.
From the foster: Hi, my name is Hootie!
I am a cat who is incredibly active and find my greatest joy in running, jumping, and playing! I love to oversee everything that happens in the household, making sure you're doing all of your chores correctly. Since I have so much to do and oversee, I don't have time for cuddling and prefer to spend my time doing my own things.
I came into the rescue as a single kitten with no siblings, so I'm still learning to be a gentleman. Since I didn't have siblings to show me the ropes, I'm still a bit mouthy and will play a bit rough, so I might not be the best choice for a household with children.
I do have a condition with my heart that I was born with that has given me a heart murmur at a grade 4/6 currently, and therefore will need heart medications twice daily for the rest of my life. I also will need to have my heart checked at my regular vet visits, or potentially more often if my condition declines. I'm not a huge fan of the vet since I have my own very important agenda to attend to throughout the day, so I have been known to pass along my advice on how they can do their jobs more efficiently. I enjoy my role as a job supervisor and intend to rise the the top levels of my profession!
Medical Bio:Hello! Throughout my veterinary care at The Bond Between, it was discovered that I have a grade 4/6 heart murmur. I had a cardiologist and echocardiogram performed. The Vet Team recommends that I stay on my current medication and have special blood work done every 6 months to monitor for any signs of heart disease. My future adopter can choose to pursue further cardiac consultation/treatment per a primary veterinarian's recommendations at their own expense.

More about this rescue
The Bond Between is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on the bond between humans and animals. We were founded in 2009 as Secondhand Hounds. Since then, we have rescued over 29,000 dogs and cats with the help of thousands of fosters, volunteers, and supporters in our community. Our organization has grown from a rescue to a first-in-its-class animal wellbeing organization... now The Bond Between! We continue to provide safe shelter, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities for animals while working hard to help them build a bond with humans. We also focus on supporting the bonds that already exist between people and pets with our pet food shelf, respite foster care program, and focus on social services.
We wake up every morning saying YES to connecting people and animals, caring for them, and helping them fill each other’s hearts.
You can help support us today by donating, fostering, volunteering, or sharing The Bond Between.
