WAITLISTED - STILL ACCEPTING INTEREST

Introducing Molly!

Super Sweet Attention Lover Chill Friendly

Personality: This sweet girl is currently reveling in all the attention and pets she receives from her foster family. Molly is on the lookout for a forever family that can shower her with love and dedicated time.

Socialness: Molly is initially alert to new people, but she quickly warms up to them and adores meeting new friends on her adventures. While she doesn't currently live with children, a home with older children is a possibility, given her size and preference for a quieter living environment. Molly has done exceptionally well with children who approach her at events.

Compatibility with Other Pets: Molly gets along well with other dogs as long as they are not active or high-energy. She hasn't had experience with cats or other small animals, so slow and careful introductions are recommended. She has been known to get jealous of other dogs receiving attention but has not shown any aggression.

Training: Molly is super savvy and has a great understanding of commands like sit, down, shake, and wait. She's housebroken and crate-trained, although she prefers to free roam. Watch out, though—she's been caught dumpster diving on occasion and is very fond of taking cloth items (socks, gloves, dishcloths, etc.)! She's eager to please, and while she may take a moment to follow through on a command due to excitement, her affection for her family is unmatched. Her forever family is not required to have a physical fence but should know that this super-smart girl has shown the ability to open some doors and fence gates.

Likes and Dislikes: Molly thrives on attention, yummy treats, and comfy places to sleep. She does a wonderful job walking on a leash and enjoys car rides. However, she dislikes busy and loud environments and being left alone for extended periods.

Medical/Health: Molly takes hypothyroidism medication daily, which is easily administered. She has recovered from heartworms while in foster care and will need to be on heartworm medicine year-round.

Molly is eager to be a cherished member of her forever family. If you're ready to welcome Molly into your home, providing her with the love and attention she craves, please reach out to us by following one of the steps below.

More about this rescue

Upper Midwest Great Dane Rescue was started in 2008 by a group of Dane lovers who desire to help Danes in need. The rescue is made up of all volunteers who lovingly give of their time and money to help these wonderful dogs. Volunteers include people from every walk of life, all with one thing in common, love of Great Danes.

Each animal coming to the rescue is temperament tested, given a physical, vaccinated, wormed, checked for heartworm and tick borne illnesses and treated as needed. All dogs are sterilized before being re homed. The dog is then placed in a foster home to wait for someone to love it forever.
