My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Domino, a two-year-old female, has a stunning black and white coat pattern. She and her two kittens came to me from the Lancaster Animal Shelter on September 15, 2023. In fact, the kittens were born that morning in the Shelter. Domino, herself, had been in the Shelter for about two weeks, but her frame is so slight, they didn’t realize she was pregnant until she started having the kittens. And since the Shelter doesn’t have the resources to support newborns, they called me.

We were, of course, expecting more kittens than the two, so when Domino had not delivered more by the end of the day, I took her to our partner vet for an exam. That was it - two kittens. When my husband saw the kittens, he remarked, “One looks exactly like the mom, but the other looks like a smudge.” The kitten names: Mini and Smudge! The kittens are also available for adoption, but they are listed in a separate posting and will not be old enough to leave until early to mid November.

Back to Domino. She is so friendly and affectionate we’re guessing she was a supported feral and had lots of positive human contact. She is completely manageable as far as trimming her claws, giving her vaccines and meds, and loading her in a crate.

The vet says she looks to be about two years old, so this was probably not her first litter. She weighed about six pounds when I got her, and that was after two weeks of shelter food. She has not put on much weight since, so although she is nursing kittens, we are guessing she will stay small and slight.

Domino is FIV/FeLV negative and completely litter trained. She is very small but has an oversized personality. She would certainly do well with another cat or with a cat-friendly dog.

The adoption fee is $150 for one cat or kitten and $225 for two. The fee covers all medical intervention and fostering care to this point, FIV/FeLV testing, deworming, vaccinations, and spay/neuter with a partner vet.
