Here's what the humans have to say about me:
You might be wondering how such a perfect dog came into rescue...well, this sweetheart was found by a nice older lady who saw her out in the very hot weather, about to have a heat stroke. She took her in and lovingly cared for her, but recently, she had to go into an assisted living situation. She also had many other dogs and her family and friends couldn't help her. Fortunately, she reached out for help and Mia came into rescue, very pregnant, about 4 days away from giving birth to 6 puppies!
We discovered upon intake that she is heart worm positive, but the treatment would have to wait until the babies were born and, on their way, to forever homes. Mia's heartworm treatment will be done in October and once she's done with that, she can be spayed. We hope she can go to her forever home in about 2 months. She will be completely vetted, up to date on all vaccinations and preventives when she leaves her foster Mom.
Here's what her foster Mom says about this precious little girl ~
One of the best little Momma dogs ever! And a real sweetheart too Mia will be getting treated for heart worms soon and after that she'll get her spay surgery and then....adoptable!! If you are looking for an easy peasy girl to add to your life, here she is! Housebroken, loves to wander the yard and enjoy being outside in the fresh air, walks great on leash, NOT barky, doesn't mind nice cats, loves other dogs...kinda sounds like the whole package, right? Mia does need a securely fenced yard - privacy fencing, not chain link - she's athletic as heck too and can climb one of those! Adult dog, weighs 9 lbs. VERY sweet temperament. You can pre-adopt her and she can join your family when her vetting is completed (probably 2 months). In the meantime, she will continue enjoying being pampered and pre-spoiled for you in her foster home. Mia is a Chihuahua mix.
Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
