My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Britney is one year old and weighs 30 lbs. She has a medium low energy level, an old soul in a young body.
Poor little Britney was saved just in the nick of time from euthanasia. It is hard to believe this sweet pup was near the end of her short life. But now this little star has a bright future ahead of her! We don't know about her past because she was a stray pup, but we know that she obviously had a litter of pups with her first heat cycle. One thing is certain, being stuck in a shelter didn't dull her sparkle: this happy little wiggle butt always makes sure to put a smile on everyone's one face! She is so sweet, gentle and loving!
Because of her petite size and her stunning huge straight up ears we think that she is a Boston terrier mix/Boxer/ possibly French Bulldog mix.
Her foster mom reports that she is an absolutely rare gem: so sweet and gentle, affectionate, easy going, appears to be housebroken, quiet (never a peep when crated). Britney has such an exceptionally wonderful temperament all around that it gives us full confidence she can be adopted to families with older children who are dog savvy and respectful towards their pets, and/or any household with other dog friendly dogs. Britney loves everyone and everything! She knows no stranger, human or canine! She is so awesome with other dogs, she just wants to engage and interact in play with them. She willingly shows other dogs her submissiveness. All of these great personality characteristics also make her a perfect adoptive candidate for first time dog owners. She is also crate trained, still pulls a little on the leash but this is an easy fix. Although she is very young, it is obvious that Britney has already had a litter of pups not long ago. She might have lived in a house prior to becoming a stray dog in a Tennessee town because as soon as she entered her foster home, she was at ease and climbed on a kitchen chair to lay and quickly fell asleep :-) She loves to lay on the sofa and cuddle close.
Britney still needs a little leash training as she still pull on the lead, but this is an easy fix. She has the perfect size to live in any type of dwelling, including apartment and condo life. Since she has such a lovely fool proof temperament, she totally suits living in densely populated areas (human and canine).

*Britney's foster mom reports that she appears to be hard at hearing: we do not know yet if she is completely deaf as she just arrived in our rescue's foster care. We do not consider her to be a "special need" dog as she is fully functional and it does not appear to bother her. She has a voice as she let out one bark at her foster home's resident dog in order to engage him to play:-)

**Oct 11 UPDATE:
After testing, we are confirming that Britney is deaf.

***PLEASE NOTE:
Based on this latest diagnosis, we have made changes to her biography:
1- we will only consider adoptive families with older dog savvy children: 10 years and older,
2-for her safety, although she is friendly towards cats, because she does not get the hint when a cat hisses at her when trying to engage it into play, we will not adopt her to a household where there are cats.

Britney's cheerful spirit will surely fill her adoptive home with a lifetime of love, laughter and endless good memories, a wonderful addition to any dog loving family as she truly is a real and rare treasure! Adoptive candidates must be willing to work with her to teach her sign language.
She is very smart and learns very quickly: she has already learned to come, sit and give the paw for a treat.
