MEET POPPY
North New Jersey
Poppy is a 12-month old, 22 lb. female black Pug mix. This little girl is the sweetest little love bug you ever met. She loves everyone she meets and wants to shower everyone with love, hugs, and kisses. She has a TON of energy and bounces around wiggling her butt to show you how happy she is.
Poppy has a lot of energy and loves to play with other pups so would do well in a home with other pups around her size and energy level. Poppy does require a securely fenced yard since she is a flight risk and she needs to be able run around full steam to burn off that energy.
She would do well in an active household, and she is great with kids but due to her rambunctiousness 8 years old and up would work well. She loves to sleep with her people and is a wonderful snuggler. She sleeps through the night without needing a potty break.
Poppy is from Texas and has been spayed, brought UTD on vaccines, xrays, chipped, dewormed, and she is finishing meds for heartworm. She is also housebroken for outside but she does know how to use a potty pad.
This little girl is a wonderful loving sweetie that deserves a great family to adore her.
Poppy’s adoption fee is $450.
TO BE CONSIDERED, PLEASE EMAIL THE FOLLOWING PRELIMINARY DETAILS to:
adopt@gingerbreaddogs.org
- Name of dog(s) you are interested in adopting
- Your full name
- Full address
- Phone number
- Type home (house, condo, apt, etc.)
- Fenced-in yard details if any
- Ages of everyone living in household
- Work schedule of adults in household
- Ages of children visiting the home and frequency
- Current dogs in home: name, breed, size, and age
- If no current dogs, then your previous dogs (name, breed, age, what happened to them)
- How soon are you looking to adopt?
- If approved, how soon can you conduct a meet & greet in north NJ?
- Your Veterinary practice references including phone number (GIVE THEM PERMISSION TO SPEAK WITH US BEFORE SENDING THIS EMAIL)
We cannot accept phone calls and PLEASE give your vet office permission to speak with rescues if you are applying to adopt from any rescue. Ask them to mark your file. If they will not speak with me, I will move on to the next application and you will not be considered.
We consider out-of-area adoptions on a case-by-case basis. All meet & greets and adoptions are held in north New Jersey and we do not transport our pups. You must come to NJ. We also do not “hold” dogs. It is first qualified, first come and our expectation is you will move quickly to conduct the meet & greet if you are approved. An approved application does not guarantee adoption of any dog from our rescue.
Note: adoption fees are not negotiable. Our typical investment in our dogs is $1,200 and it goes up from there so our adoption fees do not even cover their vet bills. If you cannot afford an adoption fee, you should not be adopting any dog. They are expensive, especially these little ones!
