Introducing Giuseppe, a resilient and charming older pup who has journeyed from a life of hardship to a promising new beginning. Giuseppe was found as a stray, emaciated and in poor condition, but thanks to the dedicated care of our staff, he’s made a remarkable recovery and is now ready to find his forever home.

Giuseppe’s past has left him with some specific needs. He thrives best in a calm and low-traffic environment, away from the hustle and bustle of busy households. His ideal home is one where he can enjoy a serene atmosphere and have the space to relax comfortably. A private yard where he can stretch out and enjoy some fresh air would be perfect, along with a cozy indoor space where he can feel secure and undisturbed.

Given his history, Giuseppe would do best in a home without other pets or young children. His experiences have made him sensitive to a lot of activity, so a quiet, low-key setting would be ideal for him. Northshore Humane Society is one of Louisiana's largest 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal welfare organizations. Since 1953, we have been serving the neglected and abandoned animals of the Northshore region. We are an independent, non-governmental rescue that offers veterinary care, fostering, adoption, and more. What We Do:
Adoptions: Each year, we rescue, care for and find loving homes for homeless animals in our community.

Veterinary Care:
Our community clinic provides excellent veterinary care to both our rescue pets and to beloved family pets. All funds raised through our clinic directly impact the care of the homeless animals of our rescue.

Foster:
Our foster families open their homes to homeless animals who are too young, sick or scared to be immediately adopted.

Volunteer:
Hundreds of volunteers take on a variety of tasks to help care for and promote our animals, assist administration, and represent NHS at community events, allowing more time for our staff to do their jobs efficiently.

Low-Cost Pet Health:
Through grant and corporate partners, we are able to provide a variety of low-cost pet care to people in need. These include low-cost spay/neuter opportunities, microchipping, vaccinations and more!
