Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**RUGER HAS BEEN ADOPTED!** Brains, beauty, brawn; Ruger's got it all! This stunning fella is a 7-9 month old male German Shepherd pup searching for a forever home. Pal's Place rescued Ruger from an overburdened animal control facility in Kentucky. He's now in a foster home in Chicago while he awaits adoption. German Shepherds are known for their intelligence, loyalty, noble character, high energy drive, and eagerness to please their guardians. Ruger is no exception. It appears that Ruger had little to no training prior to coming to Pal's Place and is now a rambunctious teenager! Like many young Shepherds, he's mouthy, excitable, and vocal and will do best with experienced Shepherd guardians. Potential adopters must be prepared to take on training and have lots of time to keep this high-energy, incredibly smart pup well-exercised and mentally stimulated. Ruger's lack of manners, excitability, and mouthy behavior, lead us to recommend a home with children aged 12+. With a bit of training and direction, Ruger would excel in dog sports, such as agility, dock diving, herding, search and rescue, tracking, flyball, etc., and will make an ideal companion for anyone interested in participating in a number of dog sports. Ruger is being fostered with several other dogs and gets along well with his foster housemates. However, he is a high-energy, full-contact, vocal player and will do best in a home with a dog of a similar energy level and play style. He is crate-trained and does well with his housebreaking when kept on a regular schedule. Ruger's adoption fee to the rescue is $475. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and started on monthly flea/heartworm prevention. He is being fostered in Chicago and can be seen by appointment once an application has been submitted and approved by the rescue. If you can provide Ruger with all he needs to thrive, please contact us today! With the right guardians and environment, he will be a once-in-lifetime dog!
• Ruger is in a foster home on Chicago's north side and can be visited by appointment only after an adoption application has been completed and approved. His adoption fee to the rescue is $475. This fee helps to cover his neuter, initial vaccines, microchip, and heartworm testing. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for any reason. Please do not submit an adoption application unless you are ready to meet and welcome a dog into your home within three days of applying. For more information or to receive an application, email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit palsplacerescue.org. Adoption applications and correspondence from the rescue may end up in your spam or junk folder. If you are waiting for our reply, please check those folders regularly.
