Katia’s estimated date of birth: 2/19/2016
Mother Kristi and her daughter Katia (black) came to us on February 19th (Katia) and 20th (Kristi), 2018. They were part of a large colony of outside cats who were being fed by a family. The number of cats kept growing, and the people who were feeding them asked for help. Forgotten Felines trapped all the cats in the colony, and since Katia and Kristi were both clearly pregnant, they both moved into a foster home. Since the Winter Olympics were taking place, I named Kristi after figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi and Katia after figure skater Ekaterina Gordeeva. Katia soon gave birth to 4 kittens, a couple weeks later, Kristi gave birth to 6 kittens! They have been co-mothering both litters and are wonderful in caring for the kittens and for each other. This mother-daughter pair clearly adored each other and lean on each other. We originally had wanted this pair to be Adopted Together - they seemed to need each other. However, with time it's clear they'll be fine adopted separately - they get along GREAT with all other cats in their foster home. KATIA has blossomed with one-on-one time with a human - and now enjoys laps & nonstop pets. She'll be fine in a home where the humans don't expect too much too soon, and are willing to be patient. Please email info@ffhsv.org to arrange to meet her, or CALL a number above.
