REESIE is a 2-year-old Weimaraner mix, weighing 70 lbs, who came to us last year with her 12 pups. She did a great job raising her family (Her first and her last!), and now that her puppies have long been adopted, she is way overdue for a FURever home.

Reesie is a young, athletic, engaging, and incredibly smart girl who loves enrichment and just about any toy she can get her paws on. And, if are looking for someone to meet you at the door, everyday, ready to shower you with happiness, it's this girl!

Reesie participated in our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program where she even had an extra credit project. With her motherly instincts still intact, she helped her inmate train up a couple of puppies. The "project" became a wonderful bonding experience for all involved. Sometimes the puppy listened to her inmate trainer, and sometimes it was Reesie's expertise that was got the job done.

Weimaraner lovers would know her needs well. She's got plenty of energy and needs plenty of exercise. On the flip side, as much quality time with her humans as she can get is also needed. She had no trouble mastering obedience, and true to the capabilities of the breed, is impeccable. Reesie's most outstanding quality? Her happiness, her exuberance and her wiggle!

If introduced properly, she can go into a home with other dogs, but she'll be the dominant one; the other pet would have to be on the submissive side. Ideally, Reesie could help raise a puppy if you chose to take on a second dog. Reesie cannot go to a home with cats. Reesie is spayed and fully vetted. She does require a chicken/grain free diet.
