Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Cooper is an approximately 12-year-old male pit bull who was previously named Chaos; how do we know his age and old name? Oh, because his previous owner moved and LET HIM LOOSE on the street in Hartford, before Hartford Animal Shelter Partnered with Hartford Police Department picked him up and tracked them down to come pick up their dog at the pound. They shared his name and age with the ACO, but never came for him. 💔
Normally we wouldn’t change a 12-year-old dog’s name, but 1.) we have learned Cooper is very hard of hearing and wasn’t responding to his old name anyway, and 2.) this guy deserves a fresh start, even at his age. Especially at his age.
What we know about Coop after a couple days with us: he has arthritis so he’s pretty low energy and likes short walks, and he can’t hear great. He is cautious but friendly with new people, and he is housebroken and crate trained, and likes sleeping in a cozy crate with the door open. In general, a sweet and mellow senior pibble who would be great company for a retiree who wants a reason to take a couple walks/day, and enjoys the warmth of a 60-lb potato next to them. As always, adoption fee is reduced for seniors.
