Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Even if you are gluten-free, this kind of Wheat is great for you! She is always curious about where you are and will follow you around to stay in the loop. She is reserved initially, but give her a little warm up time and she'll show you her affectionate side. She likes pets and chin scratches and will rub up against you, give you headbutts with her super cute round head, purr, and turn happy circles around you. She likes to be the one to decide when it's petting time, so watch for her cues!
Wheat likes to park herself near you and hang out, but she isn't the snuggly type. Sitting quietly near her humans is just what she needs to feel content and happy. She can be super affectionate but doesn't need you to pet her all the time, and when she has had her Affection Fix, she will let you know what her boundaries are. She is happy having some alone time too.
Though a Golden Girl, she still occasionally likes to bat toy balls around! And she is super curious, always interested in what is on the other side of that closed closet or bedroom door. She can be chatty if she wants something, but she's generally quiet and self-sufficient. You'll fall in love with her gravelly meow!
In her previous home, Wheat was fearful and stressed with the introduction of a toddler who was way too active for this chill girl's taste. She also did not like living with another cat. A low-traffic, low stress home would be best for Wheat with adults and young adults only who can understand when she wants some loving and when she's done with pets. Ideally, Wheat would be the only pet in the household. This is where she will shine, purr and become your beloved and loyal resident couch potato!
Ms. Wheat didn't get to this age without forming some opinions about life and deciding what she likes and doesn't like. She definitely has her preferences and will let you know them! She needs to stay on a special diet to prevent kidney stones. Her food is readily available in local stores as well as online. Questions? Just ask!
Wheat has a thick black and white tuxedo and a pink nose with a black freckle! She's such a regal beauty. She simply needs people to give her time to settle in, some places to tuck herself into until she feels safe, and a home that respects her boundaries and welcomes her affection. She is a wonderful cat looking for a wonderful home! How about yours? Contact us to meet Wheat!
All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
