“Blue” is a 70-lb, approx 1½-yo neutered male GSD who is friendly, playful and curious. Blue is healthy, up-to-date on core vaccinations and microchipped.

Blue is very friendly with everyone he has met so far. He has yet to meet any children.

Blue has been friendly with the dogs he’s met so far, including a little Chihuahua. He simply wants to play with other dogs. He accepts the grumpiness of the 12-yo dog he lives with who does not wish to play with him.

Blue has yet to be observed around cats.

Blue is housetrained but is kept outdoors primarily. He sleeps in the large laundry room at night.

Blue has been receiving professional training twice/wk for nearly a month. His rescuer (Jan) also works on obedience skills with him three times/day.

Blue’s on-leash skills are rapidly improving with the help of the trainer. Blue has fairly good off-leash recall.

Blue has been a polite passenger the three times that Jan has taken him in her car.

Blue’s favorite toy is a stuffed animal w/ a squeaker.

Blue had spent his entire life in a backyard in Castroville with hardly any human or canine contact. He was never taken to a vet and never even taken on a walk! Jan, who lives in Sonora, heard about Blue from a friend and had her ask Blue’s owners if they would be willing to let her adopt him. [Is this correct?] They said yes, and even delivered Blue to Jan’s place in late August.

Jan had Blue brought up-to-date on vaccinations and had him neutered and microchipped. She is also paying for Blue’s professional training.

Jan had planned to keep Blue, but her 12-yo female dog is not a good match for Blue’s youthful exuberance. Further, Jan is realizing that he is just too strong and energetic a dog for her. So, she is sadly seeking a new home for Blue.

Blue is located in Sonora. His adoption fee is $200, on GSRSV’s recommendation.
