Sally (FKA Pippen) is a dog with a personality as big as her jowls! Everyone who meets Sally is instantly drawn to her, and she is quite the celebrity at the vet and amongst dog sitters who all rave that she is their favorite dog to watch.
At first glance, Sally may seem a bit serious, but she is a bit of a goofball behind all those wrinkles. Sally has numerous upside-down sleeping positions, which, to the delight of humans, results in her giant jowls sagging. She will also greet you when you enter the room with a sneeze of excitement. Sally is typically low-energy but occasionally surprises you with zoomies!
Just like people, dogs have complex and multifaceted personalities. Sally loves people but has some requirements about how she engages with them. Sally prefers women over men, and needs an adult-only home. She has some fear-based anxiety (I mean, same) which results in reactivity around dogs and small children. Sally also doesn't enjoy people getting in her face or holding eye contact for long periods (again, not sure I'm writing this bio about Sally or myself).
Sally was adopted from ALIVE Rescue about 4.5 years ago as a puppy and has since been in a loving and doting home. Her family's home situation has changed as they've started a family, and unfortunately, Sally needs a new home that she can thrive in.
Sally's ideal home is an adult-only, single-dog home with dog-savvy owners. Sally is looking for humans who are calm, patient, and understanding. While Sally has some complexities, she has a lot of love to give. We know the right home is out there for the next chapter of Sally's story.

ALIVE Rescue is a sustainable animal rescue group committed to protecting the lives and rights of animals. We believe that every animal has the right to a well-balanced, socialized and fulfilled life. We take on the responsibility to save, rehabilitate and place abandoned, abused and stray animals. Our rescue permanently houses and cares for the animals that cannot be placed into forever homes for the duration of their natural lives. We provide medical, behavioral and physical support for animals despite their age, health, and/or breed. At ALIVE Rescue, we promote sustainable living and care-giving by building awareness, appreciation and respect for all animals and the environment within our communities. We constantly work to educate the public on current animal issues, including the benefits of spaying/neutering pets.
Since our formation in 2008, ALIVE Rescue has rescued more than 1,600 animals in the Chicago area.
