My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zane came in weighing 48 pounds, when he should be 70-80 pounds. He appears healthy, but needs to put on some weight before we subject him to neuter surgery. He will be available for adoption once neutered. You may put in an application now.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Dogs are listed on line using auto upload from ShelterLuv. When an adopter finds a pet they want, they submit an application.

2.

Interview

Dennis will contact the applicant and ask about their experience, home, yard, fencing, and a vet reference.

3.

Home Check

If the adopter is local, a home visit is done to verify the accuracy of information provided.

4.

Meet the Pet

If the adopter is local, their family (including other animals) is encouraged to meet the dog.

5.

Approve Application

When a great fit is found and the references check out, the applicant is approved. Others are notified that this dog is no longer available

6.

Sign Adoption Contract

Contracts can be signed electronically for distant adopters.

7.

Pay Fee

The adoption fee is due at contract signing. Then the family may take the dog or, if distant, transportation is arranged.

Additional adoption info

Being a rescue we are pickier about who we adopt to than most shelters. We seek the best home for each dog.

More about this rescue

Piney Mountain Foster Care is a small, all volunteer, non-profit skilled care facility located on 4 acres of mountainside property in Edwina Tennessee. We got our start in 2012 by caring for dogs going through heart worm treatment.

Our primary mission is to help rescue dogs from kill shelters. Many need health care. Most need training. We offer medical rehabilitation and behavioral modification in a tranquil setting.
