Hi there! My name is Samson, and I'm here to tell you a little bit about myself. First of all, let me just say that I've been told I'm quite the looker, but I promise there's more to me than just my good looks! I'm a dog with a heart of gold and quite the extraordinary companion on the trail and in the home.
You know, I'm a bit of a celebrity around here. They call me the "go-to" guy for our special doggie activity called Tails to Trails. It's a group outing where we get to explore new paths and sniff out exciting scents together. There's nothing quite like the feeling of the wind in my fur as I explore the great outdoors. And you better believe I never miss an opportunity to take a dip in a puddle, creek, or stream along the way. Water is my happy place!
AND, I'm a perfect gentleman on the leash. You'll never catch me pulling or getting aggressive towards other dogs, even when they are relatively closeby.
But my adventures don't stop there. If you ever catch a glimpse of me in the shelter play yard, you'll likely see me pushing my beloved Jolly Ball around with all my might. It's my favorite way to burn off excess energy.
Oh, and did I mention how much I love car rides? I'm a total sucker for feeling the breeze on my face and getting some pets from my favorite humans. I adore riding shotgun - it's the perfect position for maximum attention!
In the home, I am a total rockstar. Thanks to some incredible friends, I periodically spend up to a week at a time in foster care sharing their home. And let me tell you, those times are pure bliss.
I get to kick back, relax, and indulge in some serious snuggle sessions. Playing fetch and pushing my beloved Jolly Ball are favorite pastimes, but I'm not one to hog the spotlight for too long. After a few minutes of play, I'm more than happy to saunter inside for some quality downtime.
I take pride in my impeccable house manners - I'm fully housetrained, love my toys, and snooze like a champ through the night, preferably curled up right next to you if that's your thing. And when it comes to sharing, well, let's just say I'm a pretty generous guy. You want that toy? No problem. Just promise me you'll throw it for a game of fetch!
Now, let's talk about what I'm looking for in my forever home. First off, I would thrive in a calm environment where there are very few visitors. Adults only too please, who understand that trust takes time to build. It will take more than a couple visits from a very special, patient and experienced dog owner(s) to earn my trust, but I promise it will be worth it! Once I warm up to you, though, I'll be your loyal companion for life. While I'm not necessarily a fan of sharing my space with other dogs, I don't seem to have any serious issues with those mysterious creatures called cats.
It's been quite the long journey waiting patiently for my perfect family, but I know they're out there somewhere. So if you're ready to embark on this adventure with me, let's make it happen. I promise you won't regret it. Love, Samson
