My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet the sweetest dog ever! Very affectionate and loves to be with her person. Kylie is approximately 8 yrs. old and 16 lbs, Shih tzu/silky terrier mix and is the most chill dog out there! Kylie is leash trained, but she is not a big fan of walks. She would rather lounge with you, inside or outside. She likes being with people but is not a needy dog. She is fine when you leave the house. She gets along with other dogs but would be good as an only dog. Kylie would do best with older children or well-mannered younger children. Since she is hard of hearing, she doesn't bark at every noise out there! She only barks if you're too slow to get her next meal ready or if she needs to go outside to do her business; 100% housetrained. Kylie sleeps all night in her dog bed. Her fur is very soft and non-shedding but does require grooming about every 2 months; the groomer says she is an angel! If you are looking for a cute, calm, older dog with the best temperament who is easy to care for, Kylie is it!
Kylie does have Cushing Disease so she is on Vetoryl, milk thistle and thyroid medicine. She also has a deformed left front paw which gives her a limp. She is very slow moving and will often fall over. She is unable to jump or climb to many stairs.

More about this rescue

CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death. We provide shots, spay/neuter, microchip, foster homes, food, medical treatment and love to dogs that are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. In addition to caring for our dogs and finding the best possible home for them, we provide education to the community; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership. If needed, our rescue dogs are retrained to socialize in an adoptive loving family. We have had phenomenal success, and amazing support from our community. We believe that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for them. We are partnered with many Shelters to help them reach the same goal.
