Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dante, Young Male, 8 pounds, Richmond VA
DANTE IS BEING FOSTERED IN THE RICHMOND VA AREA. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN DANTE, PLEASE GO TO WWW.MOMSVA.ORG AND COMPLETE AN APPLICATION.
Meet Dante! This cutie patootie is a 17-month-old black and tan Chihuahua that is looking for his Chi loving family!
Chihuahuas are tiny dogs with huge personalities and big dog attitude and this boy is no exception!! He loves to play fetch, even bringing the ball back on occasion and is lightning fast when doing zoomies around the yard. His foster mom is never far when he is outside because prey birds will come after them!
He loves playing with is toys and he loves being with his people. He is a HUGE kisser and has the most expressive eyes so when he turns on the charm, you are putty in his paws!
Even tiny dogs can benefit from positive training so we would recommend a basic class to help with boundaries and structure and socializing with other dogs, otherwise this clever boy will rule your household like a little Napoleon!
Dante loves kids, but these little ones are not made for roughhousing and can be
possessive of their things so an adult home or older, respectful kids that have previous experience with tiny dogs are best.
While they come across as tough, they are quite fragile and care has to be taken to keep them from harm and also protected from the weather, especially the cold! Tiny sweaters and jackets will be in your future!
They can also get under foot so make sure you are stable on your feet at all times!!
Dante is crate trained, and he eats in his crate, and is housebroken, but you do have to keep an eye on him especially if he has been playing a lot; he is still very much puppy. He also loves to go for rides in the car and does well, but he would do best in a car seat with a tie to keep him in place.
His foster mom thinks he may have had a bad experience with dogs previously because he seems fearful and nervous around them and doesn’t seem to care for them one bit, especially big dogs. He is not afraid to let them know how he feels, so a home all to himself may be best for this boy to start! And that also means this little guy is going to need a family that has his back at all times and will make sure to keep him safe and out of trouble!
If you think you might be the right home for little Dante and you are interested in meeting or adopting, please go to www.momsva.org and complete an application.
