My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Olaf, and I like warm hugs. I was rescued by some nice people from a really noisy shelter. I had a few friends at the shelter, which was nice, and I am making new friends now from the comfort a foster home, which is even better. I really like women, kids and other dogs my size. I generally like everyone I meet! As I'm discovering all the new people to love and places to enjoy slow introductions help me feel safe and have a good experience. My rescue family are helping me feel confident so I can shake over any new-life jitters and fully embrace my positive future. They said they humans have to work through this stuff too, so it's all good. They also say I have the cutest ears because they bounce when I walk..I can't see myself walking, but that sure does sound cute! Let me know what you think of my bouncy ears when we meet, ok?

I am an active guy, but I also know when it's time for belly rubs and snuggles. I am as loving as I am playful, we can have so much fun together! I've been learning to wait at the door before walks, to be comfortable in my crate, and I already know basic stuff like sit, come, etc. I am really smart, if I do say so myself I walk well on leash and my favorite is walking with another dog friend, like my husky pal at the shelter or my shepherd pal in my foster home. I sometimes do think I am a lap dog, but I am not so tiny after all. I will do my best to not crawl into your lap, but I do so love to get as close to my human as possible for a sweet snuggle sesh. If you'd prefer, I will also happily lay my head head on your feet when you sit on the couch.
Life is best enjoyed with those you love, and I have so much love to give!

So, I'm officially putting myself out there now, and I hope we can meet to see if we are a good match for each other, I am so eager to find my forever family where I can be safe and loved for the rest of my life. Here's to hoping you will pick me!

Olaf is 87#, 3years old, (soon to be) neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. If you'd like to meet him, please fill out an adoption application on our website: www.liveloveanimalrescue.org

More about this rescue

Live Love Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) registered nonprofit organization that rescues homeless animals by providing them the necessary medical care, allowing for physical and emotional rehabilitation, finding them their perfect forever homes, and showering them with love throughout their journey with us.

Some of our rescue highlights from 2016: Bravey the Chihuahua "braved" a house fire with second degree burns on her back and side. Bravey had multiple laser treatments to speed up her healing, months of bandage changes and antibiotics while the burns healed. She is now all better and adopted to her forever home. Raquel the Min Pin was severely neglected and surrendered during our #fosterthe4th event at Long Beach Animal Care Services. After months of getting her well again, she too has found a loving lifetime family! Buster the Terrier Mix was hours away from euthanization. His behavioral issues are fear based and very workable with rehabilitation. Buster is continuing his training programs thanks to the funds made available by our rescue and his committed foster mom. And these are just a few of the furry ones we've had the opportunity of helping heal.

None of what we do would be possible without our network of fabulous Foster Homes. Fosters provide the safe space and daily care for our rescue pets to heal. They are the link between homeless and unhealthy to healthy and adopted for the precious souls we take in. Fostering is truly the most important part of rescue. If you're interested in opening your home to a foster pet that fits with your pack, please email us foster@liveloveanimalrescue.org.

In addition to generous donations from members of the community, Live Love Animal Rescue is also supported by our venture, Live Love Pet Care, where "With every pet care service you order, Live Love helps an animal in need." We are a social enterprise that believes in business for good, in allowing our clients to be our benefactors, and in evolving the seemingly separate pet care and animal rescue industries into one. "Live to Rescue. Love to Care.™"
