Berlioz came to TCR as a kitten with several littermates, and he is more than ready to find his forever home! Berlioz has opened up wonderfully during his time in foster. While he was initially a bit timid, he is now very friendly with people and other cats alike. He will roll over and show his belly while stretching his paws whenever a new person enters the room. He also has the CUTEST NUB TAIL that he wags like a dog. Always looking for ways to entertain himself, he is very fond of carrying objects in his mouth and throwing them around, especially round, red ones (watch your tomatoes)! Berlioz enjoys playing with the resident cats at his foster home by running around and wrestling, as well as spending his time perched on top of chairs, cushions, and cat trees.
Berlioz can be very expressive about how much he loves love! He would thrive best being adopted into a home with another friendly cat he can play with, as he can be a bit needy about "attention right meow, please". He has not yet met a dog during his time in foster, but may be able to adjust to a cat-savvy pup, with proper introductions. We also think that he would do well in a home with respectful kiddos.
Berlioz is about 2.5 years old. He has been neutered, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped, vaccinated, and has tested FIV/FeLV-. Berlioz has always been healthy while in our care, but he did have one littermate who was diagnosed with FIP (feline infectious peritonitis) over a year ago. FIP can have a genetic component, which may make Berlioz more likely to be susceptible to the disease. We would encourage any adopters interested in Berlioz to be overly cautious and educate themselves on the signs and symptoms of the disease, and we are happy to discuss this further with anyone interested in adopting him. Please apply for this super unique and sweet boy today!

Additional adoption info
We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.
Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
