My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Calling all adventurers! Strap on your Tevas and stuff your cargo pockets with granola bars, because miss Trudy is itching to hit the trails. Trudy recently took her first trip to the great outdoors with her foster fam and it's official, this girl is in-tents. Get it? I'll see myself out.

But her love for sleeping under the stars, dipping her toes in a crisp lake, and prancing to the soundtrack of nature is no joke. This girl prefers to stretch her legs and take in the sights over romping with other dogs. And when it's time for a chill movie night in, might we recommend "Wild?

Trudy started her ACPB journey as a new mom and now that her puppies have all gone to college (okay fine, they've been adopted), she's ready to LIVE. Can you help this Girl Scout fill out her adventuring and exploration badge collection?

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Angel City Pit Bulls has dogs who demonstrate stable, fun, people-oriented, outgoing personalities- making them fantastic family dogs. We have a wide range of energy levels, so whether you are looking for a running partner, potential “therapy dog”, or a couch potato, we will typically have a dog that will fit the bill.

Our goal is to provide you with a thoughtful and personalized adoption experience. We will work with you to find a dog that is right for your situation. Many of the ACPB dogs live in multi-dog foster homes, and enjoy the company of other well-matched dogs and some even with well-matched cats. We are happy to assist with family pet introductions.

Our adoption center is open by appointment only. To get started, we ask that you fill out a brief application (link is above). Following that, you will receive an email with a link to set up a call with our team to begin the match-making and adoption process. We'll set up a meet and greet for the dog(s) you are interested in, including introductions to your family pets if needed. When you are ready to move forward with the adoption, we will arrange a home delivery to help you get settled in with the newest member of your family.

Resources, support, and education are always available, and you can expect an extensive level of knowledge and support from ACPB for the lifetime of your dog.

We ask for an adoption donation of $250 for dogs over 6 months old, and $350 for a puppy under 6 months old. This non-taxdeductible contribution assists us in continuing our mission to help more dogs in need.

More about this rescue

Mission: Angel City Pit Bulls is creating a better future for pit bulls by promoting their positive image as loving family companions through education, public advocacy, adoptions and owner support.

Goal: To reduce the number of pit bull terrier type dogs in animal shelters by increasing adoptions, providing community education to increase owner retention, and participating in targeted spay/neuter programs. As a member of the NKLA Coalition, it is our goal to be an integral part of making Los Angeles no-kill.

History: Angel City Pit Bulls is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 2010 to address the problem of overpopulation and high euthanasia rate of pit bull terrier type dogs in Los Angeles area shelters. ACPB continues to evolve through the efforts of dedicated pit bull owners, educators, rescuers, and supporters working together to respond to the challenges facing pit bulls in our community.
