Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello! Let me introduce myself, my name is Holden! I am a big boy weighing in at 76 pounds. I think I am about a year old and have a bit of filling out to do, but don't let my size fool you, I am super sweet and nice. I do wiggle a lot and love to be with my pack. SCLRR does not know a lot about my past, but they were told that I was abandoned with my dad and sister when my owner moved away. They believe we were all outdoor dogs with no real-world experiences. That is why I am a little nervous about new things like car rides. I am getting better and just need more experience with all this new stuff.
I have had no experience on the leash, but my foster mom and sister have been taking me out every day sometimes 2 or 3 times. Once I am out, I walk really well and if I pull, they do this tug thing and I slow down. I am really interested in all the noises and smells. We live by an airport and hear planes every so often, that was scary at first but now it's no big deal. I don't react to dogs barking at me when I walk past their house. For never being on a leash before my foster mom is really impressed.
I am pretty smart too. I have never had an accident in the house, learned the dog door right away and I am even mastering sit. I am not sure what stay means, but I am working on it. I don't counter surf while you are in the room, but if you leave something yummy out, I have been known to help myself. That's only because I love food and I will do anything for a treat! I am not food aggressive, just food excited.
My foster mom works from home, and I like to lay right next to her quietly so she can work. I do nudge her every so often for a pet. I am working on separation training. I don't have anxiety, but I do walk around looking for you. I am not destructive, but I do snoop around, so a safe space where I can be left alone while you are out will be best for me. My foster sister is really mellow, so her chill vibes have really helped me. I have a lot of respect for her and like to give her lots of kisses. She also really likes balls, so I discovered they are so fun to play with and I can run!
I met my foster sister's cousins. They are smaller dogs and a little rambunctious, so I think I would like a bigger brother or sister to play with since I am coming out of my shell and really like to play. I met a cat in the driveway! I got my nose within a couple feet, sniffed him but walked away. I think I could live with a dog savvy cat, but I don't have a lot of experience, so if you have a cat you may need to introduce us slowly.
I have a solid foundation and I am a super-duper dog that will need an experienced, active family to ensure I don't get any bad habits and some exercise. I think a training class, socialization with other dogs, and more experiences will help build my confidence.
