Katie has been in a foster home since November 2022. In March 2023, she was diagnosed with FIP. Runaways believes all kitties deserve a chance so we fought this awful disease that, until a few years ago, was considered fatal with no possibility of a cure. Katie went through 84 days of treatment and 84 days of observation and is considered cured as of 8/22/23 which also happened to be her 1 year old birthday! So now it's time to find this amazing girl a home of her own. Katie is shy and will need someone patient who understands that she will need time to acclimate to a new environment. She adores her foster mom and loves to get pets, snuggle, and sleep with her at night. When she's getting pets, she likes to give licks and love bites. She is not fond of men so a single, quiet lady would be ideal as Katie's new family. She would not do well in a home with children...possibly older teen girls who will be willing to give Katie space to acclimate would be fine. She absolutely adores other cats with proper introductions. She's had a couple bffs in her foster home who have moved on. Those cats tend to be her same age or older and are fairly docile, but playful. She and her last bff, Ruby, used to play hide and seek every night around the same time. Ruby was adopted and it seems Katie still looks for someone to play with her. She is ok with the younger kittens, but seems to take guidance from the older ones. She would love to have a confident kitty companion. She does fine with the big dog in her foster home.
She is the best girl and you will be rewarded with a lifetime of Katie love if you're willing to take a chance.
Currently located in Clermont, Florida, but transportation is available a few hours in any direction for a committed adopter.
