This lovely lady is River! She was abandoned at the shelter with her best friend/brother, Jack. Days turned in weeks, and weeks turned into months. It seemed no one wanted to open their homes to a slightly-older pair of sweethearts. SSR stepped in to ensure their stories didn't end at the shelter. Though they clearly lived together in their past lives and during their stay in the shelter, they're both currently in separate foster homes and LOVING their return to comfort and freedom.

River is a lab through and through - extremely affectionate, silly, playful, and sweet. Despite her age, she's still got a ton of puppy energy and LOVES being outside and rolling in the grass. She's doing wonderfully in her new foster home with both cats and other dogs - big and small, old and young! River loves 'em all.

Age: 8 yrs Weight: 85 lbs Training: Housetrained and crate-trained, knows a few commands. Temperament: Good with dogs, kids and cats. Vetting: Spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative and on prevention.
