Hi! My name is Mr. Whiskers and I was found as a stray in Puerto Rico. Some kind people brought me in to feed me, bathe me, and start getting me healthy with vaccinations. I have been on my preventative medications (NextGuard and Heartworm prevention) for a couple months now. I was also neutered (they didn't prep me for that... I'll have to talk to them later!). The vet has given me a good bill of health, and estimated my age at 3-5 years old.
My foster mom and dad say I am really affectionate and I’ve already wormed my way onto being allowed on the couch for TV time and to hang with the whole family. I really like other dogs, cats, and have played with all sizes of puppers... small chi to big labs. I love to play! Don't worry about one of my profile pics that looks like I'm biting my foster brother's head off... our tails are wagging and we are just playing. I won, of course! ;) He really loves me. Currently, I live on a wonderful set of acreage in Puerto Rico and so I get to explore with my humans or on my own. But, I always come back quickly when called.
I hope you will consider adopting me! I would love to have a full time family of my own. My adoption fee covers the neutering, my vaccinations, and my flight to get to your area. The Puerto Rico Dog Fund is a great non-profit organization, but relies on volunteers to deliver dogs to the states. As such, our adopters will be notified when a volunteer Flight Angel is available to get to the airport, and the adopter will be required to meet me there (this can take 1 day to 3 weeks on average to arrange, but tourist season is coming soon and we will have a lot more volunteers). Meeting me at the airport is a great way to get excited about my arrival! Apply today!
