Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Let us officially introduce MAX!
Are you looking for a snuggle buddy?
Max has had some bad luck and is looking for a new beginning.
A few months ago, his house burned down and he was taken to a shelter in North Carolina with his doggie brothers. As if that wasn’t traumatic enough, his chi brother was adopted and Max sat in the shelter alone for a month with his time running out and no interest.
The other dog had been chained up outside and was scared and reactive at the shelter and was euth listed ”
Max is a black and white chi mix (we believe) and only weighs 15 lbs.
He is neutered, chipped, heart-worm negative, and is up to date on vaccines. He has been fecal tested, and is current on preventatives. He also received six months of Heartworm preventative. . Although he’s a little timid meeting new people, Max is such a sweetie! He doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. Max may have a little separation anxiety but who can blame him after all he has been through!. He does bark a bit when left alone but is happy when his person returns.
This boy loves to cuddle once he warms up. He’s working on house training and leash walking and getting better everyday. He does well in the car and gets along with other dogs. We’re not sure about cats or small children yet. He loves to eat (who doesn’t?) and is not picky at all. He sleeps through the night in his crate and only barks when he has to go out. Max doesn’t seem to be afraid of anything and is good with his daily walks. Max is a very laid back “attention seeker” and would love to be your sidekick.
Max is located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Approved application, vet and personal references, and home visit required to adopt. Adoption donation $250.00
