Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Bruce formerly went by the name Goose, but he has very little in common with the sometimes grumpy bird, so a name change was in order! This boy is always happy and excited to make a new friend; he’s young, athletic, and energetic. The shelter is a less than ideal place for this handsome boy- he’s yearning for a life of adventure!
Bruce spent about nine months in a home and was reportedly housebroken with a doggy door, well- behaved when left home alone, and was described as playful and affectionate. His adopter said that Bruce loves to be near his people, likes car rides, and has a couch potato side.
Here’s what volunteers at the shelter have said about him:
“Bruce was a very good boy during this week`s walk. He was sitting pretty and waiting for me to leash him up. Very attentive during the walk, looked back to me often, and sat nicely for treats when asked. He`s such a handsome boy and I hope he`ll find an active family soon.”
“What a fun and playful dog! I usually take Bruce to a yard so he can run around after being in his cramped kennel. He’s fast and agile- with some training I think he’ll make an excellent adventure buddy or agility dog! I often throw a rope toy for him- he grabs it, shakes it around, and lets it fly. Not exactly a game of fetch, but very fun. Bruce is a great dog!”
“Bruce was excited for his evening walk. He is comfortable with handling and petting but definitely an independent boy. He responded well to verbal commands and is very playful and energetic.”
“Bruce has been the Dog of the Day multiple times now. We’ve been working on his sit, down and paw (work in progress). Bruce even let us dress him up and posed for pictures. Very smart boy.”
“Bruce was a Dog of the Day Rockstar! He met the public, took treats gently, and was not dog reactive. He played with his toys, practiced his `drop it` when returning his tennis ball, and is working on his `down`. Such a smart boy.”
“I took Bruce on a shopping trip to Home Depot. After a quick game of fetch to burn some energy, we loaded up. He jumped right in and was great in the truck. Bruce did great. He sat on command and met with the public. He was not reactive to the other dogs in the store, more focused on exploring. I had such a great time with him.”
Bruce has been social and playful when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit. Ask to meet Bruc
