Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Oakley!
Hi, I’m Oakley! Oakley was the name my previous family named me. Some people refer to me as a designer dog, more specifically a “cavachon,” but in reality, I’m a wonderful Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Bichon Frise mix, and I weigh only 20 pounds. I spent my whole life with my previous family, and I’m an adult dog now (6, actually).
Unfortunately for me, I fell down the stairs in the beginning of August 2023 and hurt my back. Ever since then, I have difficulty being able to control my body like I used to. I no longer have the use of my back legs but I still love playing fetch. It’s my favorite thing to do!
I also need bladder expressions, but I’m a very good boy for those. My foster mom is willing to teach anyone how to do that. I also take some very inexpensive medications to help things flow a little easier. I also don’t know when I need to poo, but if you get me out after each meal so I can move around it makes things pretty regular.
In my former home, I lived with 2 very small children and was said to do well with them. I have met some medium sized children and I like them too. I get along great with other dogs and cats. I’m really just a super happy guy. I have a wheel chair for when we go out on walks and I can really zoom in that thing! I also have a “drag bag” for when I’m out in the yard just sniffing. It just protects my legs from getting sores.
So let’s cut to the chase and make this midlife crisis a positive one to find my new forever home!
*Oakley is being foster in Edgar, WI.
