Here's what the humans have to say about me:
These nearly identical sisters share a nearly identical story - one of strength, resilience, and love. When their owner moved away and abandoned them several months ago, a neighbor started feeding them. Because they look so similar, and they never appeared together, the neighbor thought they were one in the same. After our volunteer rescued the first cat, the neighbor was perplexed when the cat seemingly reappeared at her back door, leading to the realization that two cats had actually been abandoned. After taking in the sister, our volunteer quickly realized they had more in common than just their appearance. Both cats were also very pregnant! One gave birth just days after being rescued, and the other gave birth a week later. Given their journey, these two have developed a unique and heartwarming bond, which is why we’re hoping to adopt them together into the same home. When Opal went into labor, Athena hugged and comforted her. After Opal had her litter, she was provided with a separate bed and box for her litter, but overnight she relocated her kittens to the bed with Athena’s litter. Not only did Athena and Opal interchangeably groom and nurse each other’s kittens, but when one of our volunteers came across a litter of orphaned kittens, they also served as surrogates for that litter! Clearly, these two have hearts as big as their captivating eyes, and we can't wait for these sister survivors to find their forever home. Now that their kittens have all been adopted, they’ve been vetted (spayed, tested, vaccinated, & microchipped), and they’re eager to embark on a new chapter in their lives. If you're ready to open your heart and home to Athena and Opal, please submit an application online via www.forgotten4paws.com/adoption-application.html. You can request to foster, adopt, or foster-to-adopt. If you have any questions, send an email to contactusforgotten4paws@yahoo.com.
