My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sonny is a sweet and resilient orange-and-white gentleman who’s ready to share his love with a forever family. Born in December 2015, Sonny has overcome many challenges in life, including being rescued from a difficult situation and testing positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). But none of this has stopped him from being the loving, playful cat he is today.

Sonny is a laid-back, easy-going guy who will quietly follow you around, happy to settle down beside you for some quality time. He communicates with adorable chirps and rewards your affection with constant purrs. Despite his mellow nature, he also has a playful side that’s sure to bring a smile to your face.

Diagnosed with kidney disease, Sonny has stable on a special diet for over a year, and his spirit remains strong. He’s looking for a caring home where he can enjoy the simple pleasures of companionship, playtime, and cozy naps.

If you’re searching for a loyal, gentle companion, Sonny is ready to bring love and warmth into your life. Will you be the one to give him the forever home he deserves?

Adoption Fee: $125.00

Our adoption fee generally covers everything your new feline friend needs to start their journey with you:

*Spaying or Neutering: Ensuring the well-being of our cats and controlling the pet population.
*Microchipping: A permanent identification method to keep your furry friend safe.
*Vaccinations: Up-to-date vaccines tailored to the specific needs of each cat.
*Fecal Testing and Deworming: A comprehensive approach to intestinal health.
*Viral Testing (FeLV/FIV): Conducted on all adults and most kittens based on their origin.
*Comprehensive Blood Work: For many of our adult cats, ensuring their overall current health.

In addition to all standard treatments outlined above, many of our cats and kittens have received costly treatment for other maladies that result from abandonment or starting life on the streets.

Of course, if you would like to make a larger donation to help cover our care for the homeless cats, we would be delighted. All donations over the adoption fee are tax deductible.

Why Choose Peter Zippi?

At Peter Zippi Memorial Fund, we're not just about adoptions; we're about creating lifelong connections between our feline friends and loving families. Our Adoption Counselors are dedicated to making your adoption experience joyful and memorable.

*We often offer hard-to-place and special needs cats.*

At Peter Zippi, we believe that kittens under 5 months of age thrive best with a feline companion. To ensure their happiness and healthy development, we adopt kittens in pairs or to homes with an age-appropriate resident cat. Growing up with another cat helps kittens learn social skills, provides essential companionship, and encourages active play. We appreciate your understanding and support in giving our kittens the best start in life!

Thank you for considering adopting from Peter Zippi Memorial Fund, where every cat's journey to a forever home begins with support from the community.

More about this rescue

In memory of Peter Zippi, a young man dedicated to the care of animals, The Peter Zippi Memorial Fund For Animals was founded in 1977 by Dr. Alice Villalobos. We have adopted out over 14,000 pets (mostly cats) since then. The fund is run by wonderful volunteers who work tirelessly to help those who can't help themselves. The fund sponsors spay/neuter vouchers to qualified persons, and shelter for and adoptions of lost and homeless animals.
